Koh Phangan Activities - Boat Trips

Boat Trips Round-the-island of Koh Phangan can be booked at Backpackers Information Centre, Haadrin and leave mid-day and return at sunset. They are a lot of fun and a good way to see a few inaccessible beaches on Koh Phangan. This is a cool trip to chill-out and let all your worries fade away. You will be able to swim and snorkel as well as visit one of the islands waterfalls.

Places to visit include Bottle beach, Than Sadet waterfall, Thong Nai Pan and Koh Ma or Haad Khom (for snorkelling). A simple lunch, snacks, soft drinks and snorkel equipment are included - great value so don't forget to check out the Island Boat Boat Trip!

There are a number of operators providing virtually the same tour including Reggae Boat trip, Snoop Dogg Boat Trip, Munchies Boat Trip and Sopin Tour.  Most of their boats have a roof to keep the sun off.  Depending on the season, they will try to take you fully around the island and stop off at the above mentioned beaches however routes can change depending on oceanic conditions.  Please note the waterfalls are at their best during our wetter months (May - June/Oct - Dec).  Visibility for snorkeling is also variable depending on the season (generally better out of wetter seasons) but the tours are fun nevertheless! 

These trips are boat tours rather than snorkel experiences so don't expect to spend so long in the water!  You should do either the Koh Tao snorkel trip if you want to spend a long time snorkelling on the reefs.  The Koh Tao snorkel trip can be booked online here.

Each boat can carry approximately twenty people and during qiuet months the companies work together and combine customers onto who ever boat is running that day.  The pickup time at Backpackers Information Centre, Haadrin is approximately 11.45am and they return around sunset.

A few warnings when you are on a Koh Phangan round-the-island boat trip - beware of the sun as you will spend alot of time out in the sunshine so don’t forget to wear a hat, cover your shoulders and bring sun tan lotion as most trips leave about mid-day in the heat of the day! Water and snacks are provided on all trips!

If you are in a group, it is also possible to rent a boat for a day and arrange your own itinerary, but expect to pay a lot more. The boat will either be a traditional longtail or a speedboat.
