Koh Phangan Travel - General Info

There are basically three ways of getting to Koh Phangan from Bangkok:

• Bus/Boat
• Train/Boat
• Flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui/Boat

The quickest way to Koh Phangan is to fly via Koh Samui Airport. From Koh Samui a fast boat takes only 45 minutes whereas the boat journey from the mainland takes around three and a half hours. Flight costs and schedules can be found in our airplane section.

If you prefer to travel overland, the overnight train is best option with first or second class sleeper carriage where beds and bedding are provided. Train schedules and prices can be found in our train section.

Buses are the most economic choice with a range of services from VIP buses normally including the connection boat from Bangkok via Surat Thani to Koh Phangan. Bus details can be found in our bus section.

Ferry services also run approximately 4 times through the day from Koh Samui and every few hours from the mainland; boats also go a couple of times daily from Koh Tao. Boat details can be found in our boat section.
