It has a few hotels, perfect for a few night’s relaxing stay. Until recently, it has been quite difficult to reach the island, because it’s visited by a few people. However, a few companies have extended their services to this island. Below, we will describe exactly how you can get from Ao Nang to Koh Jum by direct speedboat service, minivan (with hotel pickup) and ferry, or taxi.
Ao Nang to Koh Jum by Minivan and Ferry

This is the most popular and convenient travel option.
You can either book a hotel pickup or join the trip at the Ao Nam Mao Pier. The price of the two options is the same, so we recommend booking a hotel pickup + ferry trip as it’s more straightforward.
When booking the hotel pickup option, you have to specify from which hotel you require a pickup. It’s better to be ready downstairs 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup, because sometimes the minivan may arrive earlier. Every passenger is allowed 1 suitcase up to 30 kg.
Minivans are airconditioned and have comfortable reclining seats.
After the van arrives at the pier, you will transfer to the ferry. This connection is organized by the operator, so you don’t have to worry about missing a ferry.
The length of the whole journey varies from 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the pickup points.

Ao Nang to Koh Jum by Speedboat

Luckily, there is also a very fast way to get to Koh Jum, if you’re not afraid of a few splashes. The speedboat will take you from Nopparat Thara Pier in Ao Nang to the island in around 2 hours. In Koh Jum, speedboats arrive at the Koh Jum Pier.
There are two daily departures at 08:00 and at 10:00. However, because of the weather, Tigerline speedboats only operate during the high season, from November until March.
These are nice new speedboats with four engines. They have all the necessary equipment including lifejackets onboard. Speedboat rides can get very bumpy, so we recommend putting on the life jackets right away after boarding.
