If you need to get from Koh Jum to Koh Lanta, there are a few public transportation options: ferry or speedboat.

The first option is a smooth ferry ride with the Lanta Super Concord Tour. The ferry tickets cost around 600 THB, and it’s a comfy air-conditioned ride with life jackets available onboard for safety. Plus, there’s a WC onboard for your convenience.

In Koh Jum, ferries depart from the Koh Jum Pier in the southeastern part of the island and arrive at the Saladan Pier in Koh Lanta.

The ferry journey takes approximately 45 minutes, which means you’ll be soaking up the sea breeze and enjoying the views in no time! Just remember to check in at least 30 minutes before the departure time to ensure you catch your ride hassle-free.

The second travel option is taking a faster and smaller speedboat by Tigerline Travel. There are two daily departures from Koh Jum Pier, with speedboats arriving at Koh Lanta’s Saladan Pier.

These are new comfortable four-engine speedboats, that travel very fast, so if you’re prone to seasickness, take some prevention. We also recommend wearing a lifejacket at all times when on board, because even though it is short, the ride is very bumpy.

For checking, find a Tigerline and Sirilanta counter located at the Koh Jum Pier. Check-in opens 60 minutes before the departure, and you should check in at least 20 minutes before the departure.

Saladan Pier in Koh Lanta

Saladan Pier, located on the northern tip of Koh Lanta Yai, is the main gateway to the island. It’s a bustling hub of activity, with ferries arriving and departing from neighboring islands. The pier is also a popular starting point for boat trips to nearby snorkeling and diving spots.

The newly built pier has a shaded seating area, where you can rest between catching the ferries. There are also lots of taxis and tuk-tuks available outside if you wish to explore Koh Lanta’s attractions. The trip to the city with tuk-tuk will cost below 200 baht (for two people).
