Bangkok to Trang by Flight

Traveling to Trang by flight is the fastest and the most comfortable option. It is also often the cheapest option since prices start at just 900 THB. The earlier you book – the more chance of getting a cheap ticket. A few companies operate on this route: AirAsia, Thai Lion Air, and Nok Air. Travel time is around 1.5 hours, which makes it a very leisurely journey from Bangkok.

All the airlines depart from the DMK Don Mueang Airport and arrive at the TST Trang Airport. This airport is located around 7 km from the town center. You can easily get to Trang city by a public bus that travels from the airport to the train station and costs around 12 baht.

If you’ve decided to fly to Trang, make sure you check in for the flight as early as possible and arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure. Don Mueang airport can get very busy, especially during the high season.

Bangkok to Trang by Train

There are two daily trains that can take you to Trang, and both depart in the evening. Since the journey is long, we recommend booking a sleeper berth in the 2nd or 1st class.

Train number 83 is the fastest, and takes just 15 hours and 20 minutes to get to Trang. Train number 167 is slower and will take around 17 hours.

When traveling by train, keep in mind that Thailand trains are often late to arrive and depart, so plan your onward journeys carefully.

Train ticket prices start at 1,086 baht while the recommended 1st class sleeper may cost up to 1,766 THB.
