For an unknown reason, the market uses a food card system instead of cash for purchases at food stalls; 100 THB per group gets you access to all the delicious treats available there. So basically, you have to visit a coupon box and buy this card. If you don’t use the whole amount, you can later refund it and get the remaining money back.

The festive atmosphere ensures an enjoyable experience for all, plus with reasonable prices such as a pulled pork burger for 190 THB and pad Thai for only 85 THB, you won’t be disappointed. Prices for drinks start at 60 THB.

During high season, Cicada Market comes alive with throngs of shoppers bustling and flocking around to find the best bargains. A pro tip: if you plan to visit, don’t come before 4 pm, as many shops remain closed until then. However, once they start and open till late night hours, there is nothing better than enjoying your delicious meal at their seating area while listening to the live band playing away!

The prices here are unbeatable, with even burgers going for only 35 THB, while various Thai dishes are priced starting at just 20 THB! One downside? People here speak minimal English, which can be problematic. But hey, with some sign language, communication should be up and running soon enough!
