Krabi Airport
Airport code: KBV
Krabi does have its own airport, although many visitors arrive at Phuket’s far busier airport and arrange a two-hour transfer by car or boat. Krabi International Airport receives flights from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Samui, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, and Singapore, though, so is pretty useful, yet connections are limited.
This new terminal is modern, spacious, and clean, and is equipped with a restaurant, convenience shop, refreshments kiosk, and ATMs. Since it’s only been open a few years and has limited flights, the commercial development of the airport has been slow, though there is a Thai Airways lounge.
Krabi Airport is located 10 km from Krabi Town on Highway 4, which is about 25 km from the mainland beach areas. The car ferry to Koh Lanta is around 40 km to the south.
With two terminals, it offers a lot of convenience for both international and domestic travelers alike. Passengers boarding international flights will find their gate at Terminal 1, while those catching domestic flights could be departing from either Terminal 1 or 2.
Flights to and from Krabi Airport
Krabi Airport is a vital gateway to the stunning landscape of the Southern Thailand beach town. It has become extremely popular with travelers in recent years and continues to provide great connectivity for those seeking a brief escape from the bustle of their daily life.
Conveniently, there are now numerous direct daily flights from:
as well as various international connections directly fromÂ
- Singapore
- Kuala Lumpur
- Dubai
With such options available, accessing this renowned Thai tropical paradise couldn’t be easier.
Transportation to and from Krabi Airport
If you’re traveling through Krabi airport, be warned – there are no public transport options available. But fear not! For just 150 baht, you can easily get yourself a ticket for a minibus. These buses are efficient and, best of all, you won’t have to worry about any rip-offs.
If you book a hotel in advance, most offer transfer services for a fee, which can occasionally be more than the standard taxi fare. You can check whether this is the case with our guide to fares below:
Fare (per car) to hotels in:
- Ao Nang: 650 baht
- Krabi Town: 550 baht
- Klong: 900 baht
- Koh Lanta: 2,800 baht
Subject to change with rising fuel prices.
Looking for a ride from the airport? Look no further than the taxi stands in Arrivals! While you may be used to haggling with street cabbies, you won’t find any of those here – only reputable taxis are permitted on airport grounds.
If you are going to Koh Phi Phi, you will need to take a taxi to the pier in Krabi Town, where you can catch the ferry (see Krabi Boat Timetable page for times). For Railay, take a cab to Ao Nang and asked to be dropped at the beach where the taxi-boats are parked.
If you’re arriving after dark, boats to Railay have to be pre-arranged. It’s not impossible, but to save yourself the hassle, ask your resort for a transfer.
