Prempracha

Prempracha Transport has more than a 40-year history of service. It is the only company authorized to operate the routes to Pai, Mae Hongson, and Mae Sariang. Because of that, it is under the control of the Government Department of Land Transport.

The routes covered by Prempracha across the Chiang Mai area include San Sai, Mae Taeng, Chiang Dao, Muang Chiang Mai, Phrao.

Advantages

  • 40 years of experience in the mountainous region. Travelers report that they felt safe, which is very important when traveling on such dangerous routes.
  • Good reputation among the locals and tourists.
  • Buses have safety belts, and overall safety standards are high.
  • There are numerous departures during the day to suit your schedule.

Things to Be Aware of

  • The rides with Prempracha are very bumpy because of the mountainous area and a curvy road. If you suffer from motion sickness, take some tablets, or opt for a taxi instead (which will make frequent stops at your request). Don’t go on a full stomach.
  • Minivans are comfy for the short rides, however, if your journey is long like Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son, it can a little get tiring.

Many notice that the driver was polite and the buses are comfortable. On the other side, some people complain that the air conditioning was quite weak.
