Bangkok to Koh Tao by Bus + Ferry
The land distance between Bangkok and Koh Tao is 700 km, or if you take a flight, it’s 417 km. The easiest and most popular way to get from Bangkok to the tropical paradise is to book a bus + ferry joint ticket for Lomprayah. What’s good about this option, is that Lomprayah is ensuring that your travel goes as smoothly as possible, by providing the tickets for both trip parts for their own transport. It is one of the most known and reputable companies in the Gulf of Thailand and transports thousands of tourists daily.
In Bangkok, the bus departs from Khao San Lomprayah, Bangkok, and takes you to Chumphon Lomprayah station, then you go from bus to ferry, which arrives at its final destination – Mae Haad pier in Koh Tao. The transfer is very easy, and there is guidance provided.
Like all the Lomprayah buses, the bus from Bangkok to Chumphon is air-conditioned, and it can get quite cold on board, we recommend wearing a sweater.
Overall rating of Lomprayah on this route is 4.3, out of 5. Many reviews say that buses often arrive even ahead of time. Another review suggests that the coach was very comfortable for the 8hr drive and while in the ferry, they enjoyed soaking up the sun at the top deck.
